Exactly when did you get genital herpes? - Submitted by Chuck Lynch - Winston-Salem, NC See Chuck's listing on polygraphplace.com to inquire about his services

A husband of 4 years asked me to polygraph his wife to determine if she had genital herpes before they married or after they married. He recently had his first outbreak and the physician had to educate him on genital herpes and how it is never cured and can go for years with medication and not break out. After he came back from the physician, he had another examiner test his wife on whether or not she had sexual intercourse with other men since they married. She answered no, that she had not had sex with other men since they were married and her results were no deception indicated. She passed.

The husband then went back to the physician and asked how he could have genital herpes if both he and his wife had been faithful to each other. The physician told him that one or the other spouse had to have been exposed to the virus at some time in their life and that they could only get it by way of genitalia contact.

When I arrived at there home to perform the polygraph exam, the husbanded asked me to ask the following questions.

  • Did you know you were infected with genital herpes before we were married?
  • Were you taking prescribed medication for the herpes virus before we married?
  • Were you lying to me when you told me you had only two sexual partners before we married?

The wife lie to the end and showed DECEPTION INDICATED after scoring the charts. She continued to deny it in post test and blamed it on her husband. After an hour and a half of discussion and running a confirmatory exam, she confessed to having a minimum of 15 sexual partners prior to meeting her current husband. She had continued her pre-marital sexual activity after herpes diagnoses and treatment without telling her sexual partners. She said after 2 1/2 years of no outbreak, she thought it was cured and left her body. Obviously she had a poor physician and some bad advice along the way. It's a good thing the polygraph was able to sort it out. The couple is staying together because it is too late to do anything else. They have a beautiful healthy child and neither has cheated on the other since they began dating and after marriage.
